So I have a '86 M1008 CUCV which is basically a '83-86ish K30 built for the military. Everything steering related is the same as the civilian trucks of that era.

Meanwhile there's a semi-local guy parting a '92 XJ Cherokee and he'll pull the steering shaft for me when he's ready to junk it in a while.

I know the years of the Cherokee are important as are the years of the truck, will his steering shaft work on my truck?
I need everything from the yoke on top near the firewall to the yoke at the steering box, correct?

Looks like it should work, thanks.

Anyone know for sure? In the mean time I'll at least put my name on it, he needs to move the vehicle around for a while so it'll be a while before I end up with it.

Did you check the article in the Tech section? I do believe his is correct though but last time I looked at 'em at the JY I got confused about the 2 I found:o

I did but there's no definitive "a XJ shaft of years 8x-9x will fit a GM truck with xx-xx years steering components."

Just wanted to cover my bases before I hassle the guy for the thing.
