Hey guys,

I have been searching for xj steering shafts here in the junkyards and i have yet to find many heeps out there and if there is any they are usually newer model grand cherokees (wj) which have a similar shaft but have been told do not work, you can call me impatient as i have only been looking for the past month but I have had pictures sent to me from a few members in vegas and they have rows of them everywhere for as low as 9 bucks a shaft, ive been told. If Anyone has one laying in their garage collecting dust and would be willing to send one my way ( alll the way up north EH ) I would be ever so greatfull as i do not have much space for MODS right now but can do this one while im in this pinch of space. Let me know what youd want for it and how much shipping is.

Thank you in advance! :woot:

Yea i was going to try that. Id just rather put my money in a ck5''ers pocket than someone elses. But i will definitely look

K85octane has bought and sold quite a few of them. I remember someone posting a link to a guy selling good ones for cheap on ebay but i cant seem to find the post on it.

No worries thanks alot, ill start digging in the crates for the thread. Mayne itll pop up

If you are going to buy new, I would stick with the company that made them originally. Crown Automotive. Though I can't vouch for the new ones, never had them in my hand and I don't know if they are still made in the USA. I was selling used ones for $40 shipped and gave the buyer the option of welding the upper bushing or not. With the new ones, I'd say you don't have to weld it. There is nothing wrong with running a used one, but by the time we get them the upper bushing is loose. Welding the top is a must on used shafts. The U-joints are normally tight. I have a used one in each of my projects. :waytogo:

Here is a link to Amazon. I'm not 100% sure this is the correct shaft. I only searched for a second. I does look like it though.
