I was mounting my XM Express kit into my K5 today, When I first kicked it on it work, I backed out of the garage it all worked great.

Tryed it after I got the dash back together, and it kicks on but doesnt go past the Audiovox screen.

I brought it in the house and put it on the my house stereo cradle and the same deal. Also once you turn it on it will not turn off. Any Ideas?

this is a pic of it

I had problems with a Skyfi II unit straight from the factory. The thing would work here and there but crap out more than work. It seemed to always get Channel #1 which was the advertisement channel (imagine that) I called XM and they resent the signal several times which didnt work and finally sent it back where it came from after determining it was defective. New unit showed up and its fine. Be aware though if you live in the boonies like us driving under a tree makes it crap out for a moment then it "reloads" and comes back on. There starting to suck IMO after the merger with Sirus. If I wanted to hear some DJ`s worthless opinion on everything under the sun Id go back to commercial radio for free.

Ive had this unit for 2 years now, this is the first time its acted up. Im gonna call the shop I got it from monday and see if anyone else has ever had trouble. Ill probably end up buyin a new one before friday just because I want it for a roadtrip next weekend.

Check to see if the antenna isn't cracked or broke. Had it happen to me twice, it will work, then cut out, come back on, then cut out....

When I turn the unit on, it gives the XM start up animation, then goes to a Audiovox picture, it doesnt go to the channel select part. It does the same on my in house cradle so Im sure somethin took a crap in the headunit itself.

By the sounds of it.....I can't remember what mine did when the antenna was furbar'd other than tick me off. Take it back and get a new one....
