xm ?\'s

i know its been talked about before on here, but i have a ?. dont know if i'll ever breakdown and get sattelite radio but if i do i'm leaning toward the xm. this

my ? is the vehicle adapter in my opinion is kind of cheesy! is there any other way to hook it up besides the tape deck adapter/cigarret adapter?

I believe they had a unit that sends a signal right to your head unit, just like the radio signal, you turn you stereo to a certain channel and it picks up the XM receiver, it's a low signal though as to keep from transmitting too far and buggin other people radios.
Personally i would look into the Sirius radio, i currently have XM and am slowly getting tired of it, going to be changing to Sirius soon.
