I scored this for dirt cheap. Needs a motor rebuild and some odds and ends but it does run. Never really owned a atv. I've ridden a small dirt bike and I've played around on my supertryke but never really rode something like this.

I can play in the hills with this and not have to rush building brandy.

They say you can lift these and fit 27" tires....:haha:No Im not going to mess with this thing other than getting it running right. Least not until my other projects get finished.

is it just me or is there somthing missing in the front suspension area

looks like a plastic swap was done to it at one time as there is no half shafts for the front 4x4 . i am not a polaris guy but that looks like a 2x4 model.

if so prob not worth the money on reman job parts it out and make a lot more.

:D Nope nothing missing it is a 2x4, that's why I got it. Sounds crazy I know but I really don't want to hassle with another 4x4. And the Pueblo motorsports park can be fun as hell with a 2x4. This is basically going to be my stress relief. Depending on the price I might snag the PS 400 4x4 from the guy I bought mine from, though thats a complete basket case and needs almost a frame off.

Get some paddles, they make slow quads look oh so fast lol :D

:pimp: Just had to ask...

On a serious note which brand of riding gear is preferred? I still have to buy all that stuff. I know I'm gonna eat s*** on this thing so I want to have some good gear. Any recommendations?

Idk what brand mine is, just picked it up at a local shop. Def get a helmet though lol.

We owned two 4x2 Polaris Trail-Bosses. They were good bikes to run all-out through the woods on a open trail, but when you get that thing out and try to crawl it around, you'll be putting those $95 belt boxes and belts on it about bi-annually. When the clutch finally cuts through the melted down box the first time, make sure your boots are tied up good! :waytogo:

We had a 250 2 stroke and a 325 4 stroke. They were ALOT of fun, just not designed for what we used them for. The 4x4 models have low range on them which allows the clutch/belts to move fast enough to cool and causes no damage. A friend of Dad's had a 300 2 stroke 4x4 that he never had belt box problems from.

All in all, they were great bikes to play around on. We had alot of fun on them and I wouldn't hesitate to get a Polaris again, but it WOULD be a 4x4 or nothing. :waytogo:

Ok I have to ask dueling, are hairy legs a requirement to riding atvs? :D:haha:

:haha::haha::haha::haha:

Quads are fun... I used to ride a 500 Scrambler and that thing was a blast. I miss it now, but I sold it to get some money for my truck. I wanna get back into it, but around me theres really no place to ride so its kind of pointless.

Found out its a 96' polaris xpress 400cc 2 stroke. Finally got the motor back in, and I should have the head gasket in 3-5 days. Once I get the head gasket in then I need to throw some fuel lines on it and I should be ready to roll! :D

On a side note. I F*&%ing HATE fiberglass.... And this thing has fiberglass everywhere. I itch like crazy!

Got the head gasket on and the head looks to be too warped to be of any use. I'm hoping to score a good head for a 100 bucks soon. I also picked up a 96ish Xplorer 400l 4wd minus the motor for 200 bucks.

Hopefully Once I get new gaskets and the replacement head it should run.

Well I finally got a new head gasket and head for 110 bucks shipped. I had to redo the rear brake but I finally got it working. Replaced some old hoses and what not but now the darn thing overheats and shuts itself off after about 5 minutes of riding. Kinda stuck at this point due to finances but I can use it to push all my other broken gm's around. :D
