Old school I guess but I still prefer Cubic Inches instead of Liters.
Everything at work is measured in liters and I have grown to use it because I have to, and it sounds like it belongs in a bottle (not bad either) but doesn't Cubic Inches sound better than Liters for engine speak?

Talking about 'cubes and American iron just kinda makes sense..... :usaflag:

However:

In a discussion with a ricer, it might be fun to let them know I've got a "10-liter" under the hood.....??? :D

um, in the right context. i like good ole standard measure... but when you pull up to a kid with a 2 liter and tell him that you got 7.4, see if hell try and mess with you:D

I'm in school in engineering, so i see a lot fo both SI and english units.

I hate using Si, but truely, as i grew up learning about motors, I always knew the CI size and L size. When it came to engines, it never really bothered me....it seemed natural?

5.0L, 5.7L, 350, 454, 305 etc all seems the same to me!

i like cid just because its more precise not just rounded to the 1/10th liter

I like both I know both so it doesn't matter. Talking to the ricers is fun though.

Strange .... this popularity for a old British unit of measure when metric is the prevailing International unit of measure.

For me it really depends what I'm talking about. Most of the time I do 'L' due to it's universal popularity.

But if it's an American V8 - I go CID all the way. I know the 'L', but prefer the CID

I like CID, even though I am pretty young and was raised hearing nothing but Liters, I only use Liters when talking about small motors, like my dad's S10 or my ricer friends little dinky motors.

prefer CID, but i know most of the common liters or can guesstimate on the liter to CID
my 5.9L 6 banger makes more HP and more importantly than anyones stock 5.9L 8 banger... both at 360 cubes....

I prefer cubic inches as well. Funny I was just arguing with a guy about this the other day. he asked if my Tahoe had the 5.7 Vortec in it. I said yeah the old body style kept the 350. He told me it's not a 350 it's a 5.7. I told him they were the same thing. I just gave up:rolleyes:

Fast on your feet man, your ref to the 350 in the old style went right over his head. Did he have a low forehead?:haha:
