I read thru a bunch of threads on builds and noticed how long it takes to get a truck done. ( not that they are ever really done)
Since i had a good running K5 in the first place and didn't want it to take forever to get done and since i know my schedule ( no time) i wasn't about to do the work myself.
but i figured out what i wanted to do to it first. should be able to get everything done in 3 months
then stick with the plan
order all the parts before starting to take it apart.
schedule time at the body shop
schedule time at the fab shop for after the body shop
that way i figured in less than 3 months it would be done
So what started out as just doing a quickie paint job ended up being take the whole damn truck apart and down to bare metal, but it came out great.
so it took longer than planned so head over to fab shop that is busier than shit and of course when i get there everyone is trying to get there stuff done before easter,
well while I'm waiting i get to thinking and why not just switch out 10 bolts for 60/14 combo
ok so send some parts back and get new parts. hell I'm doing all this why not do the coil overs, send more stuff back.
hmm this isn't quite going as planned its now been 5 months but at least there is a 14bolt under it :)

guess i don't know everything

Did you find a rabbit hole, George?

It's doable. Full cage, PRP seats, links, coilovers, bypasses, air bumps, Currie extreme duty TT rear end, new engine. Finished in 6 months of weekends while working 70 hour weeks at my real job.

Motivation is most people's issues.

I don't have any now. How things change in 11 years.

@Greg72

That guy digs a very precise hole. I'm sure he will put up lights as soon as the custom machined wheel slider floors have gotten their air adjustment dialed in.
Soon as fed ex finds his package

...and then he has to start all over in a new hole 1930 miles from the original hole. :haha:

Ding, ding ding.

I completed my front axle swap in about 5 hours (no help, no fancy tools, parked in a grassy pasture).

But it took well over a year of tripping over the replacement axle before I finally got started.

Motivation is critical.

It's not motivation, it's priorities. I'm always getting something done, but certain projects can take years to float to the top of stack.
