Well let lme go ahead and introduce myself. Im Adam, I live in podunk AL, and Ive always loved k-5s and square body suburbans, alas never owned one untill bou 6-7 months ago. A little story about how this came to be. Im a Nissan tech at the local dealership that one day happened to work on a poor little Altima GLE a 2000 model that the customer didnt have the funds to fix. Well this customer abandoned said Altima at my dealership. So about 2 months later I called the customer personally and asked her if she wanted the car, she said no but she didnt have the title, that a title loan company did. She inquired what pay off was for me and agreed tpo go down and sign the title and paperwork to release the car. She owed roughly 1200 bucks on the car, so I went down and bought the car. Course i haggled them down with a made up storage fee and amount owed to the dealership all on a work order from work. I got the car for $500 bucks. I ended up butting a total of about 1200 bucks in it and drove it for a couple months. During that time, I realized that I was simply uncomfortable in that car. So I got on craigslist and stumbled on a broke college student looking to trade his non running low milage 1993 Camaro Z28 for somthing more practical that he could depend on, so I jumped on it. The car had a few minor issues interiorwise torn seats etc anyway I knew that it was more my kinda vehicle so we traded. Luckily for me, he gave me his reicepts for parts and repairs he had done. I took me bout a month to fix the interior and get it running good 2 warranted optispark distributors (he had bought I had a really nice car. Now for the part youve been waiting for.

My best friend around the time I got the Altima bought a 1985 cucv (blazer) and he made and error by letting me drive it. So my old K-5 desire kicked in and I started playing on craislist again. I stumbled onto this newly painted 1990 GMC Jimmy with a 4-spd listed for 3000 bucks about 2 hours north of me. Well me and the guy set up a time and i drove up there. Well turns out he had a 15 year old daughter that he wasc looking for a nice car for, sooooo we traded, another even trade.

Well now I have a new paytoy. This Jimmy while pretty has had it rough. It was an SLE thats been pretty much deoptioned to bout nothing. Manuel everything Acient 4spd the doors are pre 77 interior gutted etc etc 220k miles whenever the 4spd was put in (no speedo since)

Over the past couple months I have been working kinks out an really enjoying driving it

I replaced the worn out wild country m/ts on flatblack flaking wagon wheels with stock alumies with dunlop mud rover mts (scored less than 10k miles for $475 got the wheels free for working on my service writers Infinti

Ive converted the doors back to power, also got the rear window working again

Since I hve no seatbelts I opted for a nice seat of power leather front seats out of a 2000bonneville ($60) and a third row seat out of a 91 burban

I wanna see pics of the seats installed.

I don't want to put aftermarket seats in my Jimmy I want a seat that "looks" like it should be there

Here are some pics of from last night. The first thing I did was get rid of this gorgous shifter. Pics showing the rust freeness my truck is. And the suburban 3rd row seat install.

Note. Please excuse my dead catapillers. Its been 7 years since I used a welderand im useing flux core wire (icky)

Well poop I cant get my phone too attach pics

Take another looks the trans & tcase, that's not a typical 465 shifter and definitely not a 208 shifter. The tcase shifter looks like 205 type with a 203 knob.

Roll tide! :D

The trans is an sm465. The one that was in it when I got it had a stripped third gear. Seems like it had a 205 on that trans. Ill have to crawl under it and see what it is now. It came with a replacement trans and tcase in the back. And I switched them. Didn't really pay attn. But seems like the guy I gt the truck from said one wasv a 208 and the other was a 205. Ill check
