Dlr's daytime running lights. Great how to article- link :D

I work on a gov installation, tired of dealing with silly sentries cuz they don't like lights in their eyes. (headlights):o

More principle than anything. Battery gets weak from my short trips sometimes, easier to turn motor over.

Me & mama went to make out in the truck the other night, couldn't sit there with a/c on cuz the gov. doesn't think I'm smart enough to know when to turn my g.d. headlights on. :doah::mad:

those are the main reasons...:D:D

I see you're in Phoenix. I was there @ 80, 81.

got turned on to sand rails out there. 1st time I saw a hang glider too.

good times...:D

Hmmmm I see your points, I would rather just say forget it and deal with it but then again I'm lazy.

yeah, I gave up some time back. But it stays in the back of my mind...

I just stumbled across that & Thought I'd share...

Oh don't get me wrong it might be useful to the next guy. We have some members here with that style of chevys.

While I see the point of not wanting them on all the time, my DD doesn't have them and I drive with my lights on. It's stopped several dumbsh**s from turning or pulling out in front of me. When I was a cop and we didn't have all the fancy flashing lights they have now, I found my high beams got people out of the way sooner than my light bar.

I liked it better when only bikes had their lights on in the daytime , now everyone has DRL's and no one knows if its a bike or a car they are turning left in front of . Was easier to flash the truckers on the highway too .

My Subs a 99 , I can do the one click e-brake trick .

lol

when I had a bike I got a ration of **** from a 6'6" Marine regarding my headlights. I gave him a dissertation on how the fed. gov. doesn't regard bikers as being smart enough to know when to turn on their lights, therefore in 1978 they passed a law that all new bikes shall have their lights on.

I wasn't able to turn them off, without turning off the bike & could I go to work now....

I had the impression that he wasn't use to folks not being intimidated by him. I went to work....:D

Auto head can be turned off on every chevy I have driven. You just got to know how. On the 00 and 02 trucks you just push the round ( I think it is dome light button next top headlight switch) in like 5 five times fast. I forgot how to do it on the 02 envoy. But I think all chevy allow you to disable them.

Cool. I wondered why they bothered putting in a conventional headlight switch when the 'lights are automatic...

now i know :D

Well they are automatic , but not automatic .

As in our 03 Impala , the lights are on high beam with low wattage for DRL's , and the switch turns the lows on full voltage and the highs off for normal lights on .

Far simpler than taking the whole dash apart: take the fuse out. Simple as that. The green "DRL" light on the dash stays on, but I use is as a 'minder to turn my lights on when it gets dark.

I don't have the auto lights, so don't have to worry about that.
