Yet another 57" spring swap poll

Re: Yet another 57\" spring swap poll

and turn them around 1st. mine used a 9/16 and a 5/8" bolt so after mounting mine the normal way and then trying to turn them around I would of had to weld washers on the front mount to shrink the hole. plus cut too much of the body off (willy's body)

Re: Yet another 57\" spring swap poll

I'm flipping my 56's around for 3" plus the flip should be about 2" back for me... /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Re: Yet another 57\" spring swap poll

I have mine with 1" less wheelbase right now but will be flipping them around. Don't know if I have enough driveshaft to accomodate the extra length though

Re: Yet another 57\" spring swap poll

Mine are in backwards and I think I gained about 6" of wheelbase.

Re: Yet another 57\" spring swap poll

Did you have to change driveshafts?? with 6 extra inches of wheelbase??

Re: Yet another 57\" spring swap poll

I installed mine in the original direction. I redrilled the pack 1 3/4" to correct and gain wheel base. Then made zero rate type blocks to gain another 1 1/2". /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

Re: Yet another 57\" spring swap poll

I'd go long side forward to save the departure angle, but that's just me. I'm at 118" already, planning on putting 52's in the front and reversed 56's in the rear then cutting about 10" out of the frame to get back to 115" total....you know, when the D60, onboard air, sliders, cage, tires, half doors, removable cab, NV4500, doubler, and cutting brakes are in....then I'll get to the springs and frame... I need to quit my job.

Re: Yet another 57\" spring swap poll

Yes, w/ the added wheel base I made a new driveline out of a 1ton shaft.
