It is time finally! The rust holes are now large enough that I'm losing stuff through the floor, the windshield frame is falling apart and I absolutely hate the cage.
The goals for this build include: Fix the rust on the interior and on the windshield frame. Build a new cage that runs from tip to tail. New 454 making at least 440 horse. New seats, 3 rows of seats more on that later. New dash that will be integrated into the cage. etc etc.

Sounds like some great plans. That 454 is gonna be beefie! What kind of torque are you shooting for? Will enjoy watching your progress.

The motor will be a near clone of the ZZ454/440 crate motor so it will have at least 500 ft lbs of torque. I'm trying to keep the cam as mild as I can to keep the idle quality good for the long days on the trail. I just need enough power to move the paddles in the sand and hopefully stay fairly close to my buddies in their Jeeps.

Look at what showed up today! :D The larger seats will be the fronts and the smaller fixed seats will be the middle row. Haven't decided on what the rear seat will be, most likely a small bench out of a minivan that can be easily removed.

Made some progress on the rust in the bed, been a little slow though, the new seats have been a little to comfy to get out of.:doah: :o

Couple of pictures of previous projects to keep things interesting.

Looks like the rust in the front floor and kick panel is advanced a little farther than I'd hoped so I'm going to have to cut the rockers back off.:( Oh well I have to repaint the bed sides anyway since I got a little carried away with the torch when cut off the wheel well bolts and blistered the paint.
