/forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gifWas your truck equipped with a manual transmission from the factory?
I've read a couple of times now that manual transmission trucks came with 1350 joints/yokes on the 10 bolts.
So, if your truck had an auto tranny from the factory:
The 10 bolt your truck came with had a 1330 joint.
Then you swapped in a 12 bolt which has a 1310 joint. So, your setup then was running a driveshaft with a 1330 joint and a yoke with a 1310. I'm not sure what number that is, but it's neither Napa 348 nor Napa 447.
Now, you're keeping the 12 bolt with the 1310 yoke and putting a driveshaft in that came from a 1350 14 bolt. So, now you'll need the 1350/1310 combo u-joint which is Napa #348.
And, if your truck had a manual tranny from the factory:
The 10 bolt most likely had a 1350 joint. In this case, the parts store was right in wanting to sell you a 348 for your 12 bolt swap.
So, if you're swapping the driveshaft that came on a 1350 10 bolt to a driveshaft that came on a 1350 14 bolt, you can use the u-joint that's currently on the truck - napa 348.
