So before I drive myself insane trying to find these, anyone have a NAPA or other part number for the straps for a 60 and 14 bolt? Neither of my yokes are so equipped. :(

:D Thanks in advance.

I thought the 14bff was unique in having those *(&@#^*(#! straps, and normal yokes had U-bolts.

For the 14bff straps, NAPA should know PUJ49210, or just 49210.

Looks like the U-bolts for the front are 32910. If in doubt, measure the U-joint cap diameter -- even the $15 cheapo HF caliper works well for this. If your parts house of choice doesn't have the thing by application, their catalog should list what U-joints it fits by part # as well as dimension.

The ones Napa sold me were really close...but not the same. I've broken three of them. I had to get the correct ones at a dealer. $6 each. The Napa ones worked fine till I got into the loud pedal.

You know, now that you mention it, I seem to recall getting a set at the dealer. Maybe. :doah: I know I got some motor parts and crush sleeves there... they say the memory is the second thing to go... :(

Go to Sixstates on 15th south and 300 west. They have all you need.

I would actually say that the straps are much more common than the u-bolts, especially in later years.

The OEM's switched to straps because the mechanics at the dealerships would overtighten the u-bolts and crush the u-joint, causing failure in short order.

You can't crush the u-joint cap with straps, even if they are more prone to failure. Sucks for us, better for them I guess.

Six States it is then...... I remember from teh 14bolt bible that the proper straps are probably going to be dealer-only, but the local dealer will help me. :D
I need to see about some PTO's too, so Six States will do just fine.
