yokes

There is a large nut holding the yoke to the pinion or tcase, tranny, etc. This nut must be removed and the new yoke installed then the nut torqued down to the proper spec.
 
Haha, its not that easy either. The nut can be very tough to remove but some are no problem. The correct way is to replace the crush sleeve on the pinion when retourqing but many get away without doing it. The key is to count the amount of threads that are showing and retighten to that point and check the rolling torque, usually you will need to go abit tighter.

Unless its a Dana axle (that uses shims instead of a crush sleeve to set pinion bearing preload) its far from a simple remove and replace deal.

You dont just pull it off and throw another one on...

Order your yoke from Jesse at high angle, he'll give you correct advice on how to properly install the new one.

My 1410 yoke for my dana 70 was about 90 bucks ( about 10 bucks more than ebay ) but he answers his phone, and takes the time to talk to you, hence the 900 bucks i've sent him in the last 2 months. :doah:
