York 210 wanted!

They're all over the wrecking yards around here and fetch about $25.00. This weekend happens to be half off day at PNP. If you need me to find one and ship it just let me know.

Last I went to PNP for a aluminum A/C compressor it was $35 plus core, plus their charges and taxes.
I never got one out the door under $70.

Don't know what to tell you, i paid $25.00 for mine out the door with no core. This was a couple years ago though.

Also forgot to mention on items that they charge too much for i have a friend who works for PNP and then i usually get those parts FREE. My original 8 lug conversion on the 10 bolt and my 14ff was a "GIFT". :D

There are 2 different 210's, there is a 210L and a 210R. This relates to the pressure port and it's location.

Kert, i've got your York 210R compressor sitting in my truck now, i left you a message on your cell and also left you a PM.

everyone I found did not look like that at all....

I did find a italian weird forward control truck that had an air compressor... I passed on it due to saying made in italy and I figured if it doesnt work maybe tough to find parts for it....

hey i had a quick compressor question. I found a 1984 volvo and pulled the compressor from it. the numbers ended in ****10r but I coulndt find york anywhere on it. the tag said it was from climate controls inc. but it looked just like the york. There was a more recent build date of 04/96 on it so i was wondering if it would work or if it is just a generic replacement? also not to sure where the oil res. is? Do you just fill it in the top then reseal or is there an actual res. to fill and check? because i coulndt see anything obvious on the one i pulled. just wanted to make sure b4 i spend the $40 bucks on it. thanks

That is a York but the head may not be the correct one. Does the hoses bolt down with 2 bolts or is it a big looking nut on the hose? Also i pulled my York (the correct one) from an older Volvo about 6 years ago and it too said "climate control" on it but it did also say York as well. The oil fill is on either side of the unit, you should see a small thread in plug. Kilby Enterprises makes a dipstick for checking the level.

well it has some big flare nuts on the hose ends that threads onto a flanged 90 fitting on the top of the compressor held down with 2 bolts. I should have brought my camera. i didnt notice a plug on the top just bolt heads but tomarrow ill go back and make sure again. there were 2 volvo wagons and they both had the same compressor in it. they were 84 and 85 model year wagons.

The plug is on the side not the top read what Scott said :D
As far as I know volvo's always used Yorks and everyone I have seen has been a 210.

Yes, the fill plug is on either side of the compressor and not the top.

There are more than 1 type of 210 York. There are 2 different head types and also a 210L and a 210R.

cool. thanks for the clarification. I just went and got it. it says F 210R on it. Im gonna pull the pully to be sure then clean it up and go from there i guess. thanks for the info.

Yep, same compressor i have. If you turn the compressore in either direction 90* you'll see the fill plug. If you plan to lay that on it's side you must have the correct compressor otherwise you'll suck oil into the air hose. There is also a tip on plugging an oil galley hole the leads to the front seal to also prevent any oil from being sucked into the air hose when in the upright position. Do a search on Kilby Enterprises website and you should find it.
