Okay guys, Kilby doesn't make a york mounting bracket for my truck, and I wouldn't pay their outrageous prices anyway.

I was wondering if anybody could help me figure out how to mount my york to my 350.

I have a BMW bracket, I can cut that for the plate that mounts to the compressor, but I'm stumped on where to go from here.

I have the driver's side round AC brackets, (most of it anyway) and it doesn't look like it will do me any good.

Yes I've searched the site, and found nothing helpful.

Search harder. A member here makes and sells em, or at least did. Cant remwmber his name

ssyork might be able to help you out. He made a couple of posts in my build thread about mounting a york to my 5.7. but, mine is the passenger side serpentine setup.

Muddytazz would be the one. I made mine from his pix -- I didn't know he was selling them or I'd not have wasted the time to fab and just bought one :doah:

Mind you, that's for a V-belt setup; for serpentine, ymmv.

If you've a welder and feel inclined to fab your own, you might look at my build thread or Muddytazz's old posts for pix.

That would be great.

Dremu, is your build thread in the driveway or the garage? Can't seem to find it.

And no crap about my bootyfab skills. It IS actually solid, just looks bad, and I've improved over the years :D

Awwww, sweet.

Okay, let's see if I understand these pics correctly.

The front brace bolts to the top AC bracket, and the power steering adjusting bolt. (or whatever you call it.)

The rear brace bolts to where the rest of the AC bracket bolts?

Well, I'd hafta go out and look to be sure, but that sounds right. It's made to drop into place of the original round AC compressor, yes.

Note the original belt wouldn't have fit, so I had to measure to get a new one. (Thankfully there's a local place that's clever, so I can go in and say "I need a belt like this but 4" longer overall" and they say "Oh, well, that's a 5AV300 instead of a 5AV280" or whatever it is. They're measured in fricken millimeters.)

Only problem now is, I don't have an original top AC bracket. I swear it was there at one time.

As for the Bootyfab, did you see my rear disc brake set up?

I know they are heavy, big, awkward, and probably suck more gas, but I swear I wish they had never quit using the York.
The darn things just seem to last forever.
If I could not have a York, I would have a A6.

Oh, while we're on the topic of York setups, I thought I would mention something I found out.

The threads on my york fittings, which is a SC209 model that came out of a BMW, are AN fittings.

I got adapters from a local place that go from AN to NPT. Much cheaper than the Kilby fittings.

Here is mine, it's on a '90 5.7L. The main "L" bracket is from the big rig that the york came off of.

Also, I drilled the inside out of the fittings and tapped them out for 3/8 NPT. worked pretty well.

Click my profile and look at the pics in there and you'll see the york mount that I make and sell :thumb:
