If this shop did an alignment on your truck, you should go back and insist on another realignment "UNDER WARRANTY" after you get your new tires put on. If they will not do this then ask for a refund on the alignment, and if they will not give you a refund, then remind them that your State Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) says that is illegal to do alignments on vehicles with worn out tires.

The reason I say this is because an alignment on worn tires is a waste of time. Worn tires will sit differently on the alignment plates than a set of fresh tires will, thus resulting in improper adjustment specs on the alignment rack.

That Sucks. I deal with alignment shops all the times with Motorhome customers and some (not all) shops will sell everything under the sun because they are the "experts".

Last I heard Bear had a pretty decent reputation in Denver. My Dad used to take his stuff to them. I got to agree on the condition of the tires before the alignment. They should have turned you away until you got some fresh shoes on there. I'm not a expert on the law, but I'm not sure if its Illegal to align on tires like that in Colorado.

You may want to call around to some of the 4wd shops in town and see who they recommend. Or for that matter ask here for the Denver guys to chime in who they use.

These days, shops are about making money. They don't aim to please the customer and also don't aim to have repeat business.

Alignments on SFA vehicles are a chore. I've yet to see an alignment shop do anything more to a SFA vehicle than adjust the toe-in even though it was certainly clear that the camber was off. If a shop charges more than $50 they had better have had at least the spindles off, if not the knuckles too in order to play with the castor.

I wouldn't trust the average shop to tear apart my front axle. It's been so long since they've been in production many of these people don't see them but once or twice a year. And I certainly wouldn't trust a shop trying to sell me parts I didn't need.

1 in 6 shops are respectable businesses. This is why mechanics get a bad name.
