Looks like an older school TBI injected motor given it has the saucer air cleaner. Not much in the way of real horsepower but I guess it get's decent mpg's overall. This is definitely an eye opener for me as far as the whole Sportbird package but its definitely an interesting history lesson.

Yes, I built a plastic model of a 1st gen Blazer when I was a kid and it included the decals just like those pictured in the brochure. But no, I did not know it was called a Sportbird.
