I was just wondering what some of everyone's best deals have been on whole rigs. Here are what I consider some of my better deals to be:

(1) '76 K5 Blazer, 350, 4spd/204, 14 bolt, D44, 4" lift. $400 Added a carb, valve covers and camou paint and drove it til I fried the clutch.

(2) '76 Blazer converted to Shortbed truck, 350, 4spd/205, 12 bolt, D44, about 3" suspension and 2" body lift, clean interior. $600. Replaced clutch disc and drove it til I decided to change everything.

(3) 1979 3/4 ton 4x4 truck, 350, 4spd/205, 14 bolt, 10 bolt front, drove it home for $600, put a different body off my 2wd on it.

(4) 1955 Napco original 3/4 ton 4x4, 266 V8, 4spd, all complete and original but rough. Ran 13 years ago. Trade for BB heads, SB heads and '73 crew cab body/frame- (about $350 equivalent)

(5) 1972 GMC Jimmy, Eaton rear, D44 front, 4.56's, complete minus motor, tranny and T-case, 6" suspension and 3" body lift. Price: Free- gift from relative. (the best deal)

Sorry this post is so long and has no real point, just was curious to see what other good deals others have gotten.

None that good. bought my 85 blazer 7 years ago, with 2 dead holes and a blown tranny for 2k. I think I got screwed at the time. Oh well all is fine now

In theory everything works

(1) Willy's front sheet metal.. 4 fenders, 1 hood, and grill for $45..
(2) 77 blazer $1100 350/350/203/D44/12B
After I sold everything and all is said and done I got :
Frame
front and rear axles
tranny
t-case
drivelines
steering column
topper
wiring harness
front bumper
steering box
gas tank
brake set up
plus all kinds of odds and ends
For $175.. the steering column and topper are still for sale too.

(3) 78 burb 305

purchase minus sales = $297

going into the Willy's and have
2 ten bolt axles and 4 doors sitting here off of it plus all kinds of odds and ends.

HELP!!!!! I need 16.5x 12 rims -------please please please!!!!!

oh, still LOVING the new dmax as well!

When I totalled my truck in December I thought I was gonna take it like a man on the settlement. Boy was I wrong. They gave me almost $10,000 for the truck and I got all my stuff back as well. Axles, suspension, tires, stereo, lights, drive train, everything. I only paid $4,000 for the truck. What a deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess that makes up for anything I might have got screwed over.

Sounds like some good deals so far. I'll go ahead and add some more.
(6) '81 Crew Cab 1 ton 4x4, 454, 4spd/205, 14 bolt, Dana 60, $2700.

(7) '75 K5 Blazer, 327, TH350/203, 12b/44, 3" body lift, 2" suspension, $400 (motor started knocking though)

(8) '75 3/4 ton 2wd Suburban, 454, TH400, still driving today, $600.

...and I still have all of em today. Some people say I have too much stuff and ought to sell it all for something new. But that just wouldn't be very fun. I love parts rigs too! Can't even start that list!

My current truck - 87 GMC 2500. got for 500 becuase it wouldnt start (fuel problem). After playing around with it, i just put gas in the other tank....started right up <L> gotta love 2 tanks.

My bad. I was trying to give you a hard time about trading that 454 for a d44 and 14 bolt. That was before I realized you only paid $500 for the motor with a pretty sweet blazer attached.
My best deal happened a couple months ago. I scored a front d60 and a 14bolt out of 85 crew cab. I traded the guy even up for some half ton axles. He wanted to run 15 inch rims. I didn't say a word. He was really thankful too. I still can't believe it.

Thank you......Detroit!

83 GMC Jimmy 305 4x4 $1900 (current truck)
78 Blazer 350 4x4 $500 and a Pentium 133 PC and a few hours of training on it :)

My 75 K5 $1100
454 long block $500
full roll cage FREE

my 95 Caprice 9C1 $3700, hauls total a$$, seats five adults comfortably and has enough trunk space to keep Henry Hill happy!

I also got a cherry center console for a 67 Camaro for $7, these thing fetch a pretty penny.

Now killer deals I hooked my buddy with:
1970 Monte Carlo cherry, cherry condition all original, $240
1974 Blazer $350, that's where my roll cage came from, I lead him on to the truck because I wanted the cage and he gave it to me as a finder's fee.
