My guess is that the majority of the members on this forum are probably under the age of 30, so this it may be tough to respond to this post. Since the Blazer, Jimmy, and Suburban are at least 20 years old, there probably not many of you who bought one of these beauties "brand" new. For those who are like me and on the older side, perhaps you have a photo on your truck when bought “new.” I think it would be neat to see some of these trucks on their true “original” condition. Below is a picture of my “new” Blazer taken in spring of 1989. This was shortly after I got it. I actually had a picture taken at the dealership the day I picked it up; but I cannot find it now. Ideally, I was hoping to get a Onyx Black, but apparently so was everyone else in the Northeast, as it was hard to get that color at the time. Being the impatient young man that I was, I ended up taking a Grey Metallic off the lot. Note, this is not my current truck. I only had this 1989 until 1996.

Would love to see others!

Here are a couple of pics of mine when it was new. Only had it about 2 days before I put the lift and tires on it. Don't know if I have any pic of before that. I bought it new in June of 1986 for my 20th birthday.

Might ask my dad if he has any of the '76 they had. I've only got one and it was in 1992 so not exactly new...

Here is a picture of my brand new 1976 Scottsdale K10 Sport (I was born in 1983)...grandpa bought it new, when he died, I got it...

Here is a picture of Dad's brand new 1983 K20 Silverado tow rig, he bought it new and we completely changed everything...factory equipped 350/400/208C/9.5" 14-bolt and it is now a GMPP 454HO Crate/400/208C/10.5" 14-bolt FF...among other various upgrades along the way...

Looks like a a nice truck, but this thread was started for "brand new" trucks and K5s, as in, fresh-off-the-dealer-lot new. Is there an RPO code for the "Pepe Le Pew" edition K10? :dunno:

Really? So because of a small painted on image of a skunk, you want to claim that truck doesn't belong in here? How about you point out that in post #2, Teck's red half ton isn't "brand new" because GM never had an RPO for lift kits and larger tire/wheel packages? Seriously, get off your high horse...my grandpa bought the truck new, the "Sport" stripe package did have a GM RPO, but when the truck was in a minor accident, grandpa decided to paint the Sport Stripe on, add the skunk, and add the roll bar, push bar, and other stuff...

His truck was at least new in the pic.

The intent of this thread is to put up pics of new trucks from right around when they were new.

This is like in the "show off your K30/C30/GM 1 ton" thread where folks kept putting in converted half tons and K5's. Nope, doesn't count...not a 1 ton from the factory.

No one's trying to be rude...just pointing out your pic obviously doesn't fit.

Didn't say anything bad about your truck. Just pointing out that the thread was started for members to post old-school, not-taken-with-a-digital-camera pics of their rigs back in the early '90s and before, when they were new or near-new. But if you want to get all butt-hurt about it then go right ahead.

My K5 looks just about as if it came straight off a dealer's lot in 1973 but I'm not posting pictures of it here because I didn't own it then nor was I even born.

I guess I just mis-read the original post or just didn't read it in-depth enough to think I would be precluded...I'm not butt-hurt, just didn't get why you came at me like that...but now I do, so no worries!

I for one like the skunk truck. Looks pretty stock to me, who cares about a little sticker? :D

I like the sport stripes on the black/white K10. Never seen anything like that before. That's straight out of the 70s right there. The pic of that truck actually has me considering painting my K5 silver with black top and some sort of black hockey stripe down the side, similar but different. I keep walking past the Duplicolor paint shop colors at the local Autozone and thinking 'I have an HVLP gun at home...'

And Craig, you could post pics of your truck anywhere. I don't think anyone here would be offended. That thing is freakin sweet. :D

I have never seen those stripe anywhere else either, but my grandpa ordered the truck that way...It was called the "Sport Stripe" package.

But I have seen the original catalog picture of them, but never seen them in person!
