If you haven't alredy noticed I'm fairly new to CK5. Been a long time "non-member" creeper, but have gotten way to much info from people on here not to sign up.

So I have always had this idea of making a true all purpose truck. Not the way some would think though. I want it to be strong off-road, but I like the idea of having everything I could possibly need for any situation. I drive it everywhere not just off road. Call it a prepper truck, by the way I'm not a prepper. I take this truck wheeling and camping and it has never seen a trailer.... yet. I know I want to run dual batteries and a air compressor set up but that's down the road.

I started with a 81'/82 K20 that came from Oregon. Since I've owned it I have swapped the D60 into it, locke and crossover. All the steering braces I could. Flat bed and tires were the first thing to switch. This is how it sits now.

Have you thought about adding side rails and/or tie down points to that flatbed?

I saw an artical in Petersons that I liked. It was 2X2 tubing with interior panels. I haven't done anything yet because I'm still pondering how I'm going to do it. I love the truck but I feel as though it looks like half a truck for now.

On the blue '83 K20 I had planned on creating a flatbed that retained the lower body skins with tool boxes built into the lower portion. I would have had to remove the factory fuel tanks and install a 30 or 40 gallon Suburban tank in the rear of the frame to get the tool boxes in there though. I didn't get that far before the truck was totaled unfortunately.

I have the duel tanks. Both are armored as well. Didn't want t get rid of them though. The plan is to get spare d-shafts to keep under the rear in between the bed and frame. Then spares for everything else. I had the bed built so that I can expand from there.
