Yukon dana 60 yoke dust shield ????

After breaking the 1310 on my dana 60 I opted to upgrade to a yukon 1350 yoke. It came with a huge dust shield installed as you would typically see in a rear application. In the box it came with a small shield that is typical to the front application on these trucks with the spicer yokes. However the OD of the yoke that would recieve the smaller shield is 2" where as the ID of the smaller shield is only 1.86"???? Does the smaller on get pressed on? Do i need either on a rock crawler that see's very little street time? i figured the huge on has to go no matter what. pictures for reference. What say you brotherhood? Thanks

It's just there to protect road grit from getting into the seal, it's definitely not necessary.
