Just ordered a set of Yukon Hardcore Locking hubs (Dana 60). 30 spline for now. This set was an amazon warehouse deal 180$ (damaged box). So I feel like it was a good deal. I see the splined portion inside can be changed to 35 spline later if I change my outer shafts.

I have researched these and read some threads good and bad, But would like to see if anybody is running these and has anything negative or positive experience to add. Or tips....Help a poor newb like me out:D

That's what I run on my blazer, I love em! The cheaper warns that were on when I bought it weren't working great and the plastic teeth were all messed up.

Sometimes they're tough to unlock if you don't roll a foot or 2 in rwd

They are stout. Basically a redesign of the spicer hubs. Great product overall really.

I have put them on every dana 60 I have owned both 30 and 35 spline. Yet to damage one but sometimes they can be a pain to get unlocked. rolling the truck a bit helps with that. They are easily adaptable to other axle dimensions, and Yukon is more than happy to help with parts and knowledge. I had to figure out some spacers to make them work properly for the short hub conversion on my dodge.

I had the 35 spline on my last rig. They were stout! Definitely on my list when I go through the 60 on my current truck.

I agree with the statements above about how they are sometimes difficult to unlock. I always assumed it was due to the spool binding everything up in the front axle, interesting to hear its a common thing. The trick i found that worked every time was to find a flat straight spot to drive 10’-15’ and slightly move the steering wheel left and right. They would unbind and I could disengage them by hand no problems.

Sounds like they are a good hub.

that would be an understatement. I broke Dana 70 shafts (twice) before these hubs showed any sign of wear. Just remember with hubs that strong, similar to drive flanges, it makes the weak link move to something else

I don't mean to hi-jack your post here, ... but Im gonna hi-jack your post.

I'm also looking at adding the Yukon hardcore locking hubs. But to save money, I'm not going to upgrade to 35 spline outers just yet. Does Yukon sell a kit to adapt these to 35 spline? or would I have to buy a whole new set when I do upgrade?

Yes. They will sell you just the drive slug. Or any part for that matter by itself.
