what, superoirs are the best axle you can run period in a d60, but you have to be running one hardcore rig on one hardcore trail to break yukons they are a very good axle but dont match quality to superiors, that said Ill be running yukons when the time comes :D

You have it backwards dude...The Superiors are waaaaay higher quality than the Yukons...

superior are better axles, but are they worth twice the money? If your on a budget the yukons will do ya, but if you want that piece of mind, and have money to burn then superiors are the ticket

Anyone considering either should also check out Alloy USA over on Pirate. They have some killer looking stuff and one hell of a warranty. I believe they're priced between Yukon and Superior.

When I overhaul my 60 I'll probably go with Alloy USA and CTM's.

Edit: Just found out about possible Birf's for D60's, check out this thread .

I recently bought some Yukons. Based on everything I have read, Superior makes the best mass produced 4340 D60 shafts. They also cost more than an arm and a leg. They are almost exactly 3 times as expensive as Yukon 4340 shafts for a full set of inners and outters. I seriously doubt they are 3x stronger... for me the Yukons are the right shaft.

Superiors aren't the best thing you can get... that would be custom made shafts made from 300M by Cone Ind. etc etc.

anyway, if I was rich I'd get Superiors... if I was Daddy Warbucks himself, I'd go with 300M. I'm neither, so the Yukons are the 4340 shaft of choice.

lol, not even a 40 spline 1.71" supa-bling-bling 300M equipped D60?

Nope, ground clearance sucks. I'd basically be running my 416 mogs I already have but with 4340 shafts from Exaxt with billet CV assemblies.

CTMs are 300M... thats one of the reasons they are some kick ass.

As far as mogs go, they are pretty awesome but not in every terrain. Sponsored rock crawlers could run them any time they want... but they don't. For any trail rig they kick ass though...

The only thing's I see wrong with mog's are the fact your tires can fall off if your axle breaks and you have to run at least 44's to make them run right unless you gear everything else around them.................I think.?.?

ok it was late and i misread what was posted i thought he was talking about gears :doah:

Mogs are awesome in the rocks and thats the only terrain I play in thus the reason I have them. The 404's that comp guys used are pretty crappy as far as the pot metal portal boxes breaking but I aint got no puny 404's

Theres a guy in comps running 416 portals with a 9" center section with exaxt shafts and hasn't broken anything.

Everybody stay calm, this is a hijack...willy's, have you heard anything from anyone running U1300's?

I know of a guy running U1100's with 49" IROK's and he hasn't broken a single thing yet....

comp. rig or trail rig? Wild-ass guess on the weight?

Thanks man, I love your rig and your ability to get as much done in a day as I'll probably do in a lifetime.
