Z-Bar R&R

So I purchased a complete kit from usa-1 industries to rebuild all my clutch linkage components. My question is can you remove the z-bar without removing the transmission? Or do you just unbolt the ball on the transmission side and slide it out that way. My truck is 84 k-10 with a sm465. Thanks!

Iirc you can unbolt the bracket from the frame.

That bracket is riveted on on my truck.

Ok maybe it was the pivot ball that can be unbolted from bracket

Yes it sure can be. My guess is if you unbolt the pivot balls on both sides there's enough play to get it out.

There is , the fun part is starting the ball stud .
