I have a half ton 07 Sierra Z71 that I want to get close to level. I see different kinds of kits ranging in price from $60-250 and would like a little input if anyone has used one.

The cheap one is Rough Country and looks like its some kind of composite material and bolts to the bottom of the strut. Most of the others are an aluminum spacer that bolts to the top of the strut. Name brand ones in this style are around $130, but I can find some no names on ebay for $80. What say you?

i have installed lots of lifts and level kits.

for your needs and quality requests. and simple bolt in use.

get a aluminum bolt on top of strut unit spacer.

and the only major thing is you swap left to right so the bolt pattern lines up.

otherwise it works perfectly.

side note. i have used skyjacker leevel kits a few times for these 1/2 tons with no problems.

I installed the Rough Country kit Friday night. It took under 2 hours, but much of the time was due to my jack acting up and fumbling around with the flashlight. With an extra set of hands and daylight it could have been done in an hour. I had 3" of rake before and just over an inch now.

I got her aligned today and will be getting 285/70 Nitto Terra Grapplers for it maybe this week, but might have to wait until I get my tax return. The damn Goodyears are dry rotting so I might as well go bigger too.

The muddy pic is before. :D

A little firmer, but not enough to worry about.

I had the tires put on Thursday and drove to Dallas and hauled the boat back. There was a little mud and ice driving on the trip and so far I am happy with them. They are not as mushy as the Crapyears, but they are load range E. They are a little bouncier but handle better since they dont have the soft sidewall and they are much better on the wet pavement. They also held their own in the sloppy wet clay. I stayed out of the really bad stuff though. Dirty pics should be up tomorrow.
