‘72 Blazer at work {Project Hope}

One of the scariest rides I've had in my life was in a 1963 Jaguar XKE convertible with a V12,I was only about 12 years old..the gas station mechanic down the road from our house where I bought gas for my go kart ,got one running that had been stashed in an elderly woman's garage,her late husband owned..he asked me if I'd like to take a ride in a "Jag" and I said "heck yea,this car looks really cool"..

We took off from the gas station with a repair plate to "test it" and he got the car up to well over 100 mph in less than half a mile..

I don't know how fast we actually went,but we covered a 5 mile stretch of rural 2 lane state road and back in less than 5 minutes..the roads speed limit was 35 tops in most areas,had some tight curves,the mechanic was not a great driver,he was used to his '64 Malibu...we nearly crashed a few times..the whole ride I just clung to the seat and braced myself for an impact..:eek1:..

The Jag is a kit car replica of the prototype XJ13 from 1966.
Yes it’s a v12 but it doesn’t run & drive. The owner has dumped tons of money into it and had a bad experience in the last shop.
Our shop has a great reputation so he brought it to us. It needs a complete rundown..

The NV4500/205 install is pretty much wrapped up.

the shifters are in different locations. The Advanced adaptors kit was nice.

I did my first bead roll to make a cover for the old shifter hole. Actually I made 2 of them and notched them out for the new shifter location.

We didn’t want to spend a ton of time welding it up flush and making it perfect when it’s still pretty much rusted all to hell and back.
