‘72 CST K5 Gen 5 Swap

Gen V swap of first gen K5
Got the tank back in and lines all built and installed. Ran a 12ga. power and ground harness for the pump.

Also got the pcv hoses and booster hose done. And a belt. Engine harness should be brown Santa’d today. We are getting pretty close to a test crank. Probably next weekend. Got to make a last order for O2 sensors, Maf, pedal and SS Camaro pwm fan and some exhaust pieces…

I am gonna need you to boot it into high gear. I have given verbal approval on salary acceptance on a new position at a new company and therefore very soon I will be dropping coin on parts. I am gonna need you to move faster so that I can copy you! LOL I am getting quite a pay boost so I am about to go ludacris speed to get my L8T installed!
Chop chop.... Let's go!

Cruising along on all the little details.
Got the trans cooler stl010 bypass installed and tapped the block for 1/4” npt to -6an adapters. Also got the shift cable in.

What did you end up doing for the engine crossmember?
I still need to build it. I measured the frame width and it’s the same as my ‘84 so technically I could make an ord one work but it has more drop than we need and usually requires at least a 2.5” lift. I’m going to make a copy but tighter up. I’ll post pics when I do it

Did you go with a PWM fuel pump? Part number?

PWM fan number also.

I am a little behind still.
No, I couldn’t find a pwm pump module that was deep enough for this tank. I used the universal fitech pump module that’s adjustable for depth with the corvette fuel filter/pressure regulator. What they sometimes call a “LS” setup.

The fan I got is for a SS Camaro

84790788 is fan
33737 is the filter/regulator if you go that route.

I am hopeful that my factory 4 row is ample. Should be. Fixed it. had 5 row listed.

Fugly has a 3/8" fuel line and a 5/16" return line on it. I think I am going to run an in-tank Walbro 450 and a return regulator with a gauge.

Wade you don't need a 450 unless you are going supercharger or E85, the high pressure in tank 255 will fit the factory sender better and still supply plenty of fuel for up to around 700 HP NA at EFI pressure.

You don't really need a PWM pump unless you go returnless.

The fans you can do dual and have them turn on in stages, or go PWM.
