‘75 Fullvert Blazer- K5 Cody’s build- 8.1 swap***C10’s in the park*** Back to assembly.

Restomod build for a late friend
You'll get better mileage, that big ass 496 won't have to work at all. Not like a treefiddy will anyway.
What trans you got behind the 8.1?
I swapped a 454 into my old 78 short box and got better mileage than the 350 that was in it.
Still not good… but better. :haha:

So funny you say that. My crawler has been paired with a 700r4 for over a year, and so far I’ve killed 2 driveshafts and zero transmissions lol.

Factory small block flywheel matches up to both. So I just reused the flywheel from the original engine. Same thing I did with the crawler.
That’s pretty wild honestly. I’m mostly being a smart ass with that comment anyway, but I think you got that.

Oh no I definitely caught that.

The plan was to swap in this 4L80 as soon as I blew up the 700r4, but the joke has been on me that it’s still holding up 200% longer than the rear driveshafts lol

The heat has set in for the summer. 110° heat index today with 70% humidity. Spent a little more time in the shop tossing on accessories and cleaning up the intake and some other small aluminum parts. Need to wash the radiator and at least paint the side tanks so it doesn’t look nasty. Mocked up the shroud and upper radiator bracket to make sure everything lines up good. Also need to snag a fan and clutch assembly. Probably going to toss the wiring harness on before I get too many more parts in the way and make it more difficult on myself.

Looking good.
Yep don't over due it in that wet bulb situation.
You going to tape up that throttle body flange, until you're ready for it?
