‘82 GMC “Junkyard JIMMY” {Build bash Rebuild}

image.jpg

I got it mocked up into it's new position today.
I rotated it forward flipped it around and mounted it the opposite direction.

This means I had to cut the tabs off the TR too. :doah:

I had switched the lines because they would have been backwards.
I ordered some straight adapters so I can shine the 90's.

Tomorrow I'll :weld: it...

High steer hydro assist.

Got the new set up done today. I shouldn't have any clearance issues meow. :D

I don't like these big goofy bump stops...

image.jpg

Sticking with the recycled parts theme I salvaged the rear bump stops and they became my longer front bumps. They are longer than the goofy ones and have that stock look.

I still say they are useless. But just for Andy I'll put 'em on. :D

You might be glad you have them when they save something from getting crunched. Plus you'll look more legit with some type of bumpstops on there.

Big thanks to Scott at BigHorn Graphics. (AKA MrK5)
I got a reflective red and white Zombie squad sticker.

The "zombie squad" text in the forehead area is camo. :D

I returned those bump stops and used the money to buy these rock slider lights. :D

I'm packing my gear, I hear it's going to rain in the desert this weekend.
Flash floods are real dangerous; it's crazy how the water flows thru the washes.

There are sea shells and fossils out there. It used to be the ocean bottom.
it's like watching lines where currents used to be come back to life again.

It's a beautiful thing to see.

Here's mud in yer eye...burnout

Yeah I saw on the news where they were evacuating parts of CA ahead of this storm. Kind of ironic considering how bad rain is needed there.

Yea, I didn't realize they were on. I was probably that jerk blinding everybody out there.

The JIMMY handled well. I broke a front axle shaft U joint.

Actually, I didn't bring a spare axle shaft. I thought those days were over. :doah:

The Dana 44 is just as weak as a 10 bolt because they use the same damn outer splicer U joint.

Anywhoo. I thought I had a video from a dash cam going over this easy pile but it turns out I had my settings wrong and now have a pic of where the video would have started and ended.:haha:
