‘82 GMC “Junkyard JIMMY” {Build bash Rebuild}

I like this: Clicky

Sky manufacturing Dana 44 high steer links with the option the have a key way machined into the flat top.

yup those are what i have minus the keyways with arp studs....

Also i used the 8" ram i thought only toy's used the 6" . . . better double check

Yep, 10 bolts are 6", D44 & 60's are 8", and rocks are 10".

This leaves me in a quandary.

That means when I upgrade the axle I'm going to need to get a new ram.

I'm going to get the surplus one for now. I'll use the extra $30 for the fittings.

On the sky manufacturing site they recommend using the key way if you are running 37" tires or bigger.

So I don't need to do that because I'm on 35's?
There is definitely an advantage to it.

Did you machine your flat top Superbro?

Hmm. Interesting. No I didn't machine mine I bought one that was already done from someone on pirate. Cost more money an it was threaded wrong lol.

Might not work but since it's just assist since there will be 2 mechanical stops in the way I'm willing to bet that you can run the 8" as long as you attach it to the axle housing an not the leaf spring mount like I did.

Sky will machine them for $45 + S&H.

CLICKY

Chickenrammit said he would let me do it in his shop but I would spend that much in gas getting there.

Yea I've seen that. You are right about the gas. Hmm but does it out weight the experiance

I'll take that bet. I had to limit my steering bump stop on the passenger side so these tires would stop rubbing my drag link.
If I had an 8" turning radius on this axle my tires would probably rub the carburetor!:haha:

I think the 10 bolt is narrower than the D44.

Idk. You know I'm the skeptical kind so I would be out there and measure lock to lock at the tie rod.

My steering stabilizer has 6" of travel. I already double checked. I recently replaced it. The other one was dented and the shaft wouldn't go all the way in limiting the right turn.

After I replaced it the tire started rubbing the drag link because it could turn all the way right.

I posted up something about it and I think Avery learned me about the steering bump stop. I backed it out a little bit and meow it don't rub.

Ok ok. You win Lol. I wish I could tell you I would have my 13bff done soon but between the leg and japan I'm moving at a snails pace.
