I'm laying out some half doors. Well, actually it looks more like 3/4 of a door but anywhoo this is where I'm at.

On the latch side I went as low as I could so I can keep the latch in the OE location.

On the hinge side I was thinking starting with body line at the rear of the front 1/4 panel and make it drop to the center.

In the center I marked it in line with the arm rest. I figure I'll keep it.

I went out and made a cardboard template from my fenders so there would be symmetry in the curves and connected the points.

I thought about cutting straight lines but that would be too easy.

I haven't cut anything yet. I'm gonna let it sit overnight while I think about it.

What do you guys think? Show me yer 1/2 doors...

I personally like the straight cuts, but then again I have full doors and DIY4x doors :D

But you screwed up, don't like it sit over night, GET IT DONE! hehehe

I tweaked the lines this morning. I like this better.

I'm still thinking about the straight cuts too...

Nice! I like that too.

I'm glad I didn't cut anything yet, I'm getting more ideas...

how are you guys keeping and actuating the latch? If pblaze doesn't mind the explanation.

I kept it Barney style.....the actuating lever is still in place and I attached a pull cable on the inside that opens the door.

These are pretty sweet. Found on another large 4x4 site.

I plan to take the rod for the locking mechanism and hook it to the latch.

Pull the skull cap to open the door. I'll show more details when I get to that step.

Thanks for the posts fellas. I am heading to the garage to get started...

This is the cut.

This is how I plan to use the latch. I will pull the lock rod to open the door.

Blue tape and cardboard.

I am going to drill a hole here for the latch, which will look like the lock.
