Thanks Adam. I actually went out & toned it down a little bit after I read your post. It's still there but hiding behind some leaves.
What the hell, I'll go out & take more pics before the sun sets.
BTW,
I just goat a new camera from Cyber Monday. Now I can take better pics. I'm going to be taking lots of poser shots for a while.

I'm glad you got rid of your electrical gremlin. Hopefully you didn't feed it after midnight. Anytime I ever have a problem like that, I automatically suspect something I've done to my truck in the past. Like tightening up the belt or whatever. Or loosening it. You know what I'm saying. I still wonder if the alternator bearing is trying to get too hard to spin on you. Only time will tell I suppose.

Gremlins don"t die easy.
I put a 2nd new belt on it.
I drove it last night and it was squeaking like a MOFO. In park, no squeal, while driving it was super loud.
So I pulled the belt off to inspect and there was a some old hard black melted rubber on the water pump pulley.
So i took a little time to clean it all up and now we are all quiet and charging well.
Now my biggest problem is the rust on the roof. Did somebody say go full vert?
I think I might try to do some tricky patch work.

I drove it last night and it was squeaking like a MOFO. In park, no squeal, while driving it was super loud.

I think the best way to do it is to take the windshield out as you know theres rot in there as well. Then cut all the bad out. Get some body hammers and work the patches. Gonna suck on that spot because it cuves in multiple directions. But steel does bend, if you hit it enough Or just take a wire wheel to it and clean up the bad, sandblast if possible, and lay down some fiberglass, or marglass bondo type stuff meant for bare metal. You could sand it to look pretty decent.

This is a weird spot for rust to occur to me. I wonder why there's rust there. Maybe the Jimmy used to have one of those moonvisor things in the past or something like that so that moisture got trapped under it. It lives in a dry climate after all.

That's pretty much the plan but I have a strict no bondo rule.
I'm thinking of my fenders and 1/2 doors as practice for this job.
I bend metal for a living I think I can handle this although it will be a challenge.
We will see...
BTW I have a full vert window frame if you want to put the work in to fix the rot. (There's a lot)

Just remember when we did my floor, Paul...It isnt the hole its the 6 inches SURROUNDING the hole you need to worry about
