‘82 GMC “Junkyard JIMMY” {Build bash Rebuild}

Time in Honduras..?

"They also sent text messages on cell phones while riding horses and donkeys, but that's a different story."

That's funny!!!
I'd love to hear that story!

I still prefer inch dimensioning.

Hahahaha. I don't want to clutter PBlaze's thread but I will tell you about that place sometime. It was cool.

Back to the roof repair now. :D

Thanks Mike.

You guys feel free to chat it up, I don't mind.

I plan to hit the trail Saturday, hopefully I will have some kewl pics.

Well, it's Saturday and I didn't hit the trail. It's been raining a lot and I didn't want to go on the highway with the doors.

For the JIMMY I ordered a new windshield weatherstrip. Now I need to get a windshield and do the body work.

The TUNDRA got new rubber today.

Nice 2nd vehicle!

Didn't know you had a Tundra.
They are great trucks!!!
I have the 2008 CabMax.

Still rather be driving my Sub whenever possible.

The doors look great, may have to steal the lock to latch idea.I just cut the handle off and left the locks, and have them on poppers with the alarm or you can push the button and they open.

Yes sir.:D :saweet::sign11:

...and I got some tips from a glass installer. His advise is as follows...

- it's easier to reuse the old seal but I said no way I already bought a new one.

-heat the seal up to get it to take the shape easier.

- pre-fit the seal to the wind shield glass and let it sit for a while.

- when installing see step 2

-install the seal on the truck body and make sure the joint on the seal is on the bottom center

-slide the glass in bottom first and work your way around flipping the seal into position.

-install the locking strip starting at the bottom center and work your way around.

He said he would install it for $35 if I have trouble.

$80 Brand spankin new & it's tinted darker than mine too.

At pick yer part a windshield is only $40 and tomorrow is 50%.

good deal ...But I thought about it and decided to get the fancy one anyway.

80 bucks thats dirt, was that install price a friends only price? i got quoted 280 new installed. also what brand weather stripping did you get?

He quoted me $100 for the windshield installed cash money. If I use the card he has to charge taxes.

I paid $80 for the glass to go.

Thinking about our last conversation I asked how much would he charge for labor to install it.

He thought for a minute and said $35 cash.

Cash is king

... I got the weather strip from Chevy Classic parts . com

Same one I got but I got the one with no lock strip same place to. .... Apparently no lock strip also means no watertight seal
