‘82 GMC “Junkyard JIMMY” {Build bash Rebuild}

I like her version of how they met vs. his version. Classic.

We actually left my wedding in the truck you see in my avatar, but it was just a stock truck then. Still cool though. I remember my new wife protesting that there was mud on the floorboard and her wedding dress was getting dirty. I was like "you're never going to wear it again."

I have a few 3.73 14 bolts. Do you mean to write "ratioN"?

Martin
yes

was wondering that too. rations are for eating. ratios are for gearsets. unless youre eating your gearsets...
i think it's funny

We are thinking about doing a photo shoot that pretty much destroys the dress.

I love it. My old lady would never go for that. She still has the flowers she held at our wedding. They're under glass and look terrible. She's talked about displaying her dress in the same way. In a glass case.

I like the dress-wrecking idea better. :D

Trash the dress

I think Kelly was calling it a trash the dress but yea same thing.

Here's a shot from our photographer:

..And here's a link to some pretty darn kewl pics: >>>> <<<<<

...and yea I have been saying gear ration on purpose because I think it's funny. I want my gears to last a long time so I ration them. :D

Okay it felt really weird just then to look at wedding photos on the computer at work. Thankfully no one saw what I was looking at. I would have never lived that one down. Pretty unique though I'd say.

When I got married, I about wanted to punch the photogs out because they were pestering me so bad the whole time. I think they took at least 5,000 pics and wanted us to stop and pose for each one multiple times. It was annoying. Hopefully you won't run into that Paul.

I can kinda see why those Hollywood stars get mad and punch out those paparazzi (hope I got that right) that won't leave them alone. Only thing is, the wedding photographers were getting paid by my wife's dad so I had to put up with them.

good point AB, I've heard about people telling the photographer to not pose anyone
get in there with the people and take pictures WITHOUT interrupting. You'll get better, more personable pictures, like grandma sneezing on your nephew :D

I'm gonna get a yellow card for having too much lounge talk in the driveway.

I don't mind but the mods might.

I'm getting some mirrors for my 1/2 doors.
The stock mirrors don't fit there anymore .
I just know I am going to knock them off on the trail.

I have to pick up some conduit for the soft top and figure out how it goes together.

For the axle I need some drag links so I can steer it.

One 7' piece of 1 1/2"x.250 DOM and some tube adapters is all you need my friend not that they are the cheapest but ORW has it all in stock

Dang! A seven foot piece of DOM tubing for a door mirror!?

I'm thinking smaller like hot rod style. 2 sheet metal screws and I can take them off pretty quick. I'm still thinking about it.

Oh, you must mean for the high steer.

I live right next to Industrial Metal Supply maybe I can save a few bucks on the tube there. I love that place.
Couldn't I use the stock drag link from the Dana 44 for the one that goes straight across? ...you know Junkyard stuff.
And custom build the steering arm...?

I got her cleaned up, put her in a tight black dress and some bright red lipstick. She looks like a black widow.

my only thought on that would be how often your sheet metal changes shape, you may be drilling new holes pretty often

There was a thread on here where someone made a crossover link from an old tie rod. I think it was NorCal Chris back when he had that cool old yellow Blazer. The "NorCal Crossover"

True. This is why I'm still thinking about it.

I well in that case you could have taken my tie rod. I tried giving you
I didn't realize you we're trying to give me one. I'll take it.

I am running NorCal_Chris Cross over on the 10 bolt.
That won't work on the high steer setup. There is no bend in the steering arm. The drag link and steering arm are both above the leaf springs.

I saw where someone else had cut/rethreaded and bent one up for high steer too. I think he heated up a good bit. That's been a while back though. If you could find one at the junkyard, it would be worth a try I guess.
