‘82 GMC “Junkyard JIMMY” {Build bash Rebuild}

12FF62AC-88E5-4EAE-876D-E16D820BA747.jpeg

I got a few inches of DOM and some threaded fittings to install my 7/8”-18RH TRE on one end and the 7/8”-14LH on the other.

A little while later I went for a test cruise and it seems to be doing good. We’ll see how it does on the next big adventure.

Howdy,

I’m still around.

Renewed my subscription so I figure I’d check in.

The little dooder is growing fast. He loves switches and lights and is eager to learn.
I’m excited to teach him the old school ways.

JIMMY sits on standby patiently waiting as I give my attention to a CJ5 rescue-resto.

I might start a thread about it. Maybe not.

I won a DIY4X givaway on the book face.

I’ve been needing to replace my front shackle hangers for a while. It was convenient to win a set up from the big dog.

The old tranny still drips from my last time out at the Dune fest. The boys are already talking about this year and I haven’t done anything but repair my steering.

I meant to pick your minds of why I’m leaking the fluid from the R4 and what I need to fix when I tear it out. Rear seal I guess?? I don’t know.

In other news my second boy is on his way. Due May 15.

So yea, the JEEP has to go, the JIMMY may need to turn into a Suburban. We’ll see....

Congrats! I've got 4 boys from 2-8 1/2. Still making a K5 work but might turn my C30 into a wheeling rig someday for more room.

congrats man! when did you get the round eye? that thing looks sweet...

The blue ‘78 is my neighbor’s rig and daily driver.
Family owned since day one.
I help him wrench on it sometimes.
I replaced his ignition tumbler, fixed the tailgate power window, and some other minor stuff.

it's neat... not sure I've ever seen woodgrain on em, looks good with the blue...

I sold the Jeep project, packed up the shop & house after a last minute thrash session to fix my leaking T-case, and hauled my junk back to Cali.

Parker showing me where I need to park my new rig.
Oh yea, I got a new trailer since my other one is long gone and I upgraded to the 10K.

A few days later we rolled into our friends place near Denver. My wife’s best friend, they just moved there and weren’t even settled in yet.

They too have 2 boys so we just hung out and enjoyed the company.

Eventually we got to the Great Basin where there were 100 mile stretches with no service and nothing to see.

It kind of makes me nervous with the kids plus hauling a big load.

The GPS decided to send me down the Immigrant Trail in El Dorado National Forest. That was a windy road with blind turns and bushes that grow way out into the lane of traffic.

White knuckle sweaty palm driving but the Towyota handled it.
