Great choice. I'm excited to see more of these things built to wheel, they are great trucks. Very comfortable, plenty of power and super reliable.

I have wanted to do the same thing! You can get a truck like that for around $4000 now a days. And just like in your plan, its an SAS away from being an excellent wheeling rig! Factory LS power, Comfy interior, Even A/C! I like it!

I hear what youre saying. I was going to build and swap it all in a older CC but why waste my time. Reliable, comfy and easy SAS.

Hurry! Lets get on with the build haha. Id love to do this with my 99.

Well, I have two build threads up right now and trying to get to them both:D

Lets talk FRONT LOCKERS. WHICH ONE?????? mechanical or air?? must be yukon since the guy is a dealer I'm getting 60 from
Spartan?? Grizzly?? ZIP??

Friz and Avery say Air locker but im not quit convinced. Mechanical, you know its locked. Air i hear sometimes youre not sure.:dunno::dunno::dunno:

Depends on what your intentions are i think.

yep, I got my 14b detroit for dirt cheap brand new and came with a 1410 yoke.

If I did it again though, it would be really nice running on the street with it unlocked. The truck is very well mannered and quiet, but start going around long turns quickly, and I tend to get a lot of ass shakin' & swayin' :D

With all of your wheelbase you wont notice a detroit in the rear. In the K5 I knew it was there, in the GMC I only know its there when it makes a clunk on occasion. Same rear end, different trucks

There fixed it. Front traction. It will be driven too and from dunes, camping, and trails. The plan is a detroit or Grizzly for the rear.

I've never wheeled anything that long, but I would think you would want a selectable locker up front for turning purposes. I also don't have any experience with selectable lockers.

Oakknight on here runs an e-locker up front and it seems to work well.

I'd say it all depends on your budget...

Ditto what stan said. If you can afford it, I can pretty much bet you will like a selectable up front better.

i have detroit in the rear and a spartan up front. no complaints here at all.
