just bought a new truck, has steering wheel controls but none light up when the headlights are on, my 03 had steering wheel controls and they lite up with the lights.

Any thoughts? maybe a fuse or something else?

also it has the auto dual air and the bottom buttons like the a/c switch and the off button etc ect dont light up either the whole bottom row.

same deal? fuse or something else?

i know the HVAC unit is its own thing but i was wondering if the lights could be on a seperate circut.

pics coming soon

click over to dieselplace.com theres a bunch of threads on the different light controls & replacements, etc.

The lights tend to burn out. If the controls work, but there is no light, they are probably burned.

You really have 3 options:
1) Replace the switches (gmpartsdirect.com is fairly inexpensive, but they are still going to be expensive.
2) Pull the switches, pull them apart, then go get mini lightbulbs from radioshack and solder in new ones.
3) Replace the bulbs with LEDs

I just replaced 3 of mine by scavenging bulbs from an old steering wheel I had.
