hey can anyone help me? i got the 1/2-3/4 ton bracket for my D60 front, but i cant seem to figure out how to put it on. the spindle goes on first then the big bracket? if so im havina extremely hard time to get the big bracket over the spindle for a tight fit. so i gave up and put 1 ton bracket on. am hoping u guys can help me out. cause i have everything for the 1/2-3/4 ton bracket (calipers, pads is new. all it needs is rotors)to go on. so do any of u guys run them and can u tell me what goes on first, etc. thanks in advance..

bracket goes on then the spindle. What tight fit are you talking about? Are the stud holes lining up with each other?

More clarification, bracket goes on knuckle then the spindle then the hub.

yes i made sure of that X100 times. it goes on the stud holes no problem. u see the hole of the big bracket, the big hole, not the stud hole. will not slip over the spindle, the part the stick out abt 1/4 to 3/8 of a inch for the bracket to go over. its a very tight fit and i cant even get the bracket on, with 2 lb hammer, a rubber mallet, and by tighten the bolt a bit. not too tight. and yes the spindle is clean. i have the same problem on both sides!...:(

and if i put the bracket on the knuckle first, the spindle goes on quickly. but wont that bring the spindle out more, and therefore, more play for the front axle shaft to move back and forth a bit?

Did you remove the paint from the inside of the bracket?

yes i did;)

badass, already talked to muddybuddy, say the spindle goes on then the bracket. but no mods to spindle, so i got confused. i probably have to break out the grinder, but i wanted to talk to u guys first... :o

On a stock GM Dana 60 the assembly order is the spindle then the brake caliper bracket.

How much difference is there in the hole sizes between the stock bracket and the aftermarket one?

I will get the measurment tonight when i get home. Yes ur right, the stock d60 is in the right order u say. but what abt the aftermarket bracket? i sure hope its the same as stock d60 order. im just hoping someone that ran the same thing knows what to do. thanks for the help ya all.

ANY ONE ELSE??

If you put the brake brackets on before the spindle the spindle will be located on the knuckle by the spindle bolts. It's supposed to be located by the large hole in the knuckle and the machined ring on the back of the spindle.

If it does go brake bracket then spindle it will be a much weaker set up.
