are there really a differance? are the spring rate different enuff to change the amount of weight i can carry/tow? i see cheap springs from blazer and half tons... or should i just just this up front and flip the rear keeping the stock heavy springs?

I don't know about the lift springs, I would believe they are different. But I do know that with the stock springs, all the ones I've seen, 1/2tons only had 2 leafs and 3/4tons had 3 leafs :dunno:

is this for the front or rear springs?
I have 5 leaf 1/2 56 now but friday I am swaping them for 8 leaf 3/4. I can post some side by side pics and let you know of driving impresions too

If we are talking rears, there IS a diferance. 3/4T=56" 1/2T=52". If we are talking fronts I have not seen a diferance between any of 'em, stock or lift.

heres the 1/2T with an AAL and 3/4T 56" springs
The 3/4 has more arch than 1/2T with a AAL
I got 1/2" taller and they are softer (jumping up and down on the bumper is not a real test but it works) :D
I also discovered today that I ground my 6 month old rear u-joint bearings into a fine powder :doah:

well 1/2 ton fronts came in 2 leaf only.
The 3/4 tons came in 2 or 3 leaf, not sure what the break was but it had to do with GVWR ratings.
The rears were also depending on the weight ratings and were always more on 3/4tons since most of your payload goes in the back.
The fronts were upgraded when you had upgrades on the front like brush gards or heavy duty bumpers and roof rack where you could end up with more weight than the engine, also the 454 equiped burbs came with 3 leaf springs.
I believe also the burbs with a tow package go them because when you use an equalizing hitch you end up with more weight on the front.
:D
