1/2-ton 4L80?

I drove 3 1/2 hours just to look at a couple engines a few Saturdays ago for my cutlass..... that's half way to the UP!

Or we could meet at Baumgartner's....lol

So are you wanting to buy this 4L80 or not? The buddy's coming over again tomorrow, he'll probably be trying again to sell it to me. :haha:

Honestly your probably right on your earlier postings, not that hard to find, blah, blah, blah, yada, yada, yada...
It would have to be a smoking good deal, to want to have to mess with it.... Especially since I am going to look at another 78 truck this weekend, why, I have no clue...

Gotcha. IIRC, he wanted $800 for it a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if that's a high price or a low price for a running beat-up truck. Yes, it's hard to find anything driving for $800, but OTOH it has 300,000 miles on almost entirely original parts, so nobody expects it to be running too much longer. Either way, I have no use for it.

I will say this...clueless shopping is an expensive hobby! :haha: :rotfl:

That's high price for a used tranny, and probably a high price for a rusty 2wd truck...

I agree. But he will probably get his price as long as the truck continues to be drivable. I think it's worth more alive than it would be dead. But we'll see what actually happens.
