1\" body lift questions/for sale

Bought a 1" body lift from ORD. However, now I wondered some stuff. Such as: Will the lift interfere with the fan shroud? If so, is there any way to deal with it other than trimming (ruining) the shroud. I live in the desert and I need all the cooling I can get. Also, how much does it affect the clutch linkage. Anyone want to buy the thing from me? I will make you a good deal.

Yes you'll have to deal with the fan shroud. I think trimming it is the only way to remedy the problem. As far as the clutch linkage, I heard you have to "adjust" it not modify it. I wouldn't know too much about that, I've got an auto.
I'd be interested in buying it from you. How mych are you asking and what do you think shipping would be to So Cal?

Hey Esteban, a) if you go with the body lift, take a look at mine, i didn't trim my shroud and i found a way to extend the shifter link without welding, and b) if you want a 2" i got one under my desk that i've been kicking around for a year, and will be willing to part with for very little money.

i put in a 2" body lift in mine(72) i did trim 1/2 bottom part of the shroud and get no heating problems. I drive it in el centro often(115 average these days). I crossed the border recently, that's sitting on your a** for at least 20min, at idle, at 115 degF, raining or was it sweat pouring down, but the engine as usual. keeping
cool.

so lower the shourd by one inch... it is not hard at all...
i live in Yuma and i have only half a shroud, no probles here.


1974 Chevy Blazer Cheyanne. but it is on 33's now, with saggy old springs. i am in Yuma Arizona if ya got any parts for me.

Because body lifts look stupid, don't get your frame any farther from the ground, and stress out your body mounts. I wouldn't even consider a body lift over 1".

If no one wants your 1" from ORD, PM me, I have someone out by me who does. I have a 1" lift from ORD, and works great, made in extreme fashion. The fan shroud just needs trimmed on bottom. Cut-out wheel or mini-die grinder works great, due to small size. I have an auto trans, had to adjust transmission linkage, transfer case linkage, and steer shaft (not required, but wanted to return it to original angle) This was easy, so I recommend it. Now as far as recommending it, the one inch makes cleaning underneath much easier, routing of exaust higher up between frame rails, better approach and departure angles if you remount bumbers, and more clearance in hood to airfilter, if you do mods on engine later. Have to say the 1" on a K5 is a good 70 investment (not meant as a way to shove bigger tires under the truck) and most need to replace the darn body mounts, so might as well do the body lift, hell, you already paid for it. Just my 2 cents.
