looking to swap in a set of 1 ton axles into my 83 blazer, is it going to be a direct bolt in with a set from a 1 ton from a late 70's 1 ton chevy pickup ?

the front 60 should be a a direct bolt up. the rear i think you have to get the 3/4 ton for it to be a direct bolt up due to spring perch being differant on the 1 tons.

The 1 ton rear end will have different spring perches and different shock mounts.

The front 60 should pretty much bolt in.

So would it be easier to just reweld 1/2 ton perchs or use the 1 ton springs and relocate the shock mounts ?

if your going to reuse old purches, might as well be the ones your cutting off the axle instead of having to cut another set off the half tons. i reused all my axle hardware. i swiped axles off a 82 k30 and yeah you have to move the spring purches and the shock mounts are the opposite sides.

front was simple

spring perchs arent that expensive, i have crushed stock ones... order some really good ones for a good deal from diy4x and be done with it, you can also aim your differential so it will match your specific truck then weld em right there

Thanks for the info, hope i can get started on this by the end of next month or as soon as i get the rest of my $$ saved up and hidden from the wife
