Just finished rebuilding the engine in a friends truck with a new steel flywheel and new clutch. Problem I am having is there is way too much free play in the clutch pedal and it will not go into gear because the clutch isn't fully disengaged. I am wondering how to adjust out some of the free play since the pushrod on the slave cylinder is not adjustable??

Thank You,

Todd

As I remember, (someone correct me if I am wrong) there is no adjustment possible, on the hydraulic clutch. which would mean you need to bleed the system, more. The set up I have is totally stock, with no adjustment anywhere.

If you've got an aftermarket clutch master cylinder, there may be adjustment on IT'S pushrod. I had that on one I bought, didn't get good pedal until I adjusted it.

There is no adjustment in a factory system. Somethings wrong if it's not working right with factory parts. Bad master or slave, wrong fork, etc.

likely it still has air in the line. Sometimes they are pretty hard to bleed. The best way is to force fluid through the bleeder with some kind of a pump or squeeze bottle and bleed it backwards. Or of you get to the point so it does dissenguage and it's drivable, after a few days the air will bubble up and the pedal will all of the sudden be good.
