1-tonmudders 241/205 Doubler

Great thread ! I have both of the t400/203 and sm465/203 set ups and have been mulling over my doubler project . I'm running the 465/205 now and I also have a 27 spline 241 case out of a 91 blazer . I'm thinking a sm465/241/205 is in my future ! I like the better gearing and it's a bit lighter .

What is the spline count on the 241 to 205 shaft ?? Finding a t 400 205 case is a problem out here but I find lot's of 27 spline t350 205 cases .

The 241 to 205 shaft can be many different spline counts, I believe Duffy (D&D machine) sells 23,27,31 and 32 spline shafts at least. The shaft alone was $250 last I checked.
 
So do I but it won't do me any good for a 241/205 doubler. IIRC you need a driver's drop 241 for front drive shaft clearance.

I'm doing mine with a PSD 241 mounted upside down, I'll make sure to show you how I did in the next few days.

Oops, I corrected my last post. My 241 is passenger side drop and I'm mounting it upside down to clear my passenger side drop 205.
 
Got it, that is exactly what I would need to do if I use my current 241 case.

I just figured you must be using a HP Ford D60 or something with an upside down DSD 241 and DSD 205.
 
show it for me anyways, its easier to find PSD 241's around here than DSD cases, and i am seriously considering this for a summer project
 
I built my 231/D300 From Scratch my self. Have About $150 Into it Including purchasing the D300.

I will try to post a Build up thread for the doubler tomorrow.

Ok so after a short hiatus I finally got back on this today.Pulled the old 400/205 out.

Since I went to a 241 case it requires a different lenth output shaft in the 400.Their are 3 different lenth's on the 400 output's and it depends on what case your runnin.They are as follows.
NP203
NP205-figure eight or racetrack pattern with the short input
NP-205,208,241-round pattern with the long input.
Since I had to change the output shaft and the 400 I was running had a ear broke off of it I elected to just completely replace the trans.I had a good lo-mileage 400 from a CUCV that originally had a 208 behind it so the 241 will be a direct bolt in.

Got the trans in and all buttoned up and started assmebling the 241.

Not a lot of progress for 8 hours work but considering all the distractions I done pretty good.
