10-bolt, 12-bolt, Dana 44 are all the same - 1/2 ton axles (although the front 10b and D44 were used for 3/4-ton - they are FF, you know.)
14B s/f (9.5" ring gear) is the true 3/4-ton rear from GM. Some 3/4-tons got the 10.5" 14BFF, but it's really 1-ton beef.
14B F/F (10.5" ring gear) has 1-ton strength, but was used in 3/4-ton trucks, but with mounts that let it bolt into a 1/2-ton truck. The 1-ton version has different mounting features, but all the same innards. It can be put in a 3/4 or 1/2 ton by moving shock mounts and the spring perches.
Much easier to find low gear in the heavier version trucks. An axle is never cheap if you have to re-gear and re-build it.
