12 Bolt/5lug to 6lug swap

Are the 5 lug axles out of a 12 bolt the same as the 6 lug 12 bolt axles?

After 73 they should be as long as it's not a van axle. Just measure the lenghts of the shafts and make sure they are correct. I have a 70 axle here that is 3/4 of an inch less wide then our axles and it did come out of a truck and not a car.

Yeah my friend just did that swap a few months ago, it was a 77 and they were the same length.

I put a 12 bolt in my 2WD truck that came out of a 4WD, all I did to make it a 5 lug was swap out the axle shafts and drums. So it would be the same going from 5 to 6 lugs.
