12 bolt...which truck

Half tons only. 3/4's and 1 tons got (in waaay old trucks, a la pre-'37) Eatons or (in later trucks, ie 73+) the 14 bolt.
Now, which years... I donno when it started. I know they were available for '73-74. The 12 bolt ended ca. 1980 with the advent of the 10 bolt rear.

They were available in coil spring 67-72 2wd leaf spring 67-72 4wd, leaf spring 2wd and 4wd 73-81 . I did find that although a 2wd axle is a bolt in they are 5 lug so switch shafts, and the drivers side shock mount will be too low when shackle flipped and shock wount fit right side up. Mine came on 2wd 73 half ton /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
