Odd, I had never seen a late 3/4 ton Suburban with a full floater.

That is an open axle then. If it was limited slip, it would turn the same direction. Although a gov-lock acts like an open until it spins fast enough.

Me either but one of my buddys told me he has seen a bunch of the 3/4 ton burbs with them....

Yeah, early models (1973-1981). They didn't start using the semi floater until the 1982 model year (I believe that is the correct year). I just had never seen a newer model with a factory full floater.
