Getting ready to put in this axel any tips or anything I should watch out for?

As long as the spring perches are the same width, it will be quite simple. You will need a conversion joint (u-joint) to adapt the new axle.

I've already determined ill haft to change those to the correct location but what about drive shaft length?

Do you currently have a lift? The pinion on the 14BFF is longer, which will shorten the length between your axle and transfercase. I didn't have any problem with a shackle flip (4"lift), but I have a slip yoke np208

Really need some more info on your truck. Fill out your sig with that info and we can help out

I got a CV driveshaft after my shackle flip. When I went to one ton axles, I had to move the axle back 1" to keep from shortening my driveshaft. Also have NP208.

Updated my sig a bit baisicly a stock 87 blazer except I did have a cv drive made after I put my 4" lift in . 35" tires

You should be fine. Just check your slip yoke after install and make sure you have adequate slip. I had to use shims to get my driveshaft at correct angles, but I was using stock shaft.
